Space Congress Establishes Itself as the Leading Meeting Point for Spain’s Space Sector
On 19 and 20 May,, Madrid hosted a new edition of the Space Congress, an event that once again confirmed the excellent momentum of Spain’s space sector.
The remarkable level of participation, with nearly 500 attendees representing industry, institutions, public organisations, research centres and key users of space-based capabilities, has firmly established the event as Spain’s premier gathering for the space community.
Companies belonging to TEDAE’s Space Commission were exceptionally well represented throughout the Congress, showcasing the strength of a value chain that integrates major corporations, leading mid-sized companies, highly specialised SMEs and a dynamic ecosystem of emerging enterprises.

Together, they reflect the diversity, vitality and competitiveness of a sector that has reached a significant level of maturity and has become one of Spain’s foremost technological and industrial strengths.
From an industry perspective, we would particularly like to highlight the strong institutional support demonstrated throughout the event. The presence of two ministers and the Prime Minister provided clear evidence of Spain’s commitment to developing national space capabilities and strengthening an industry that generates innovation, highly skilled employment, economic growth and strategic autonomy.
The Congress also served as a platform for important announcements aimed at increasing public investment in the space sector—a highly positive signal that will help consolidate existing capabilities and address future technological and competitive challenges with greater confidence.
Special recognition must be given to the Spanish Space Agency, with whom TEDAE had the privilege of co-organising this edition of the Congress. Its leadership and convening power were instrumental in the success of an event that addressed critical topics including strategic autonomy, industrial development, critical technologies, space applications for the economy and society, and the challenges associated with security and defence.
The broad institutional and industry representation present in Madrid clearly demonstrated that space has become a true national priority and a strategic commitment to Spain’s future.
