This key unit considered as the instrument’s brain, is built upon a set of generic modules that implement the basic functions and is completed with modules specifically designed to meet the needs of the mission instruments. The versatility of our ICUs has allowed us to successfully use them for applications as different as the MetOp-SG or EUCLID programmes.
Grupo Oesía presented at the facilities of the European Space Agency, on May 16, Oesía Tech Leadership (OTL), its new professional development program to enhance and accelerate its technological talent. Through OTL, the Spanish multinational is committed to investing in the training and growth of its professionals with a technological profile. Indra is developing the V2-i intermediate version of its S3TSR space surveillance radar, one of the most advanced systems in Europe and the world, which will incorporate new transmission elements (TX) up to quadruple its current power. The improvements to the radar will reinforce Spain’s ability to protect military satellites and space assets in low orbit against space debris and hostile satellites approaching with the purpose of damaging, interfering or spying.
The CDTI has selected Deimos’ Insight4EO for development in ESA’s InCubed programme. Insight4EO is an on-board intelligence solution for autonomous data capture, processing, and prioritization for Earth Observation satellites, from low cost to high-performance platforms. Insight4EO provides on-board product generation for SAR and Optical payloads, allowing realtime tasking and global product delivery for responsive decision-making in time-critical applications, like Disaster Management and Global Monitoring services, as well as other societal and commercial services.
Both companies have reached an agreement to expand the agreement reached in 2019 to lease the capacity on Hispasat’s satellite, Amazonas Nexus. This partnership includes long-term leasing of the entire satellite capacity available over United States and Brazil, as well as a significant part of the Amazonas Nexus over the North Atlantic corridor. Intelsat will offer inglight connectivity services in these areas with a high volume of air traffic, as well as other services.
The Communications Module of the SpainSat NG-I satellite arrived in Tres Cantos (Madrid) in December 2021. Since then, and within the company’s satellite AIT clean room in Tres Cantos, it has undergone comprehensive assembly, integration and test (AIT) activities of the three communication payloads in X, military Ka and UHF bands, involving hundreds of electronics and radiofrequency units.
SATLANTIS avanza en su internacionalización con la adquisición de SuperSharp en Reino Unido, una spin-off de la Universidad de Cambridge especializada en instrumentos ópticos infrarrojos. Sener has opened a branch in Santander, in the Technology Development Center of the University of Cantabria (CDTUC). The office is part of the Group’s Aerospace and Defence department and will focus on the design and development of electronic and radiofrequency components and subsystems for integration into mixed active pointing (mechanical and/or electronic) communications and radiometric systems. It has room for a staff of some 20 professionals, who will join the current and future projects in Space and Defence.
