The mission is designed to detect and characterize near Earth objects large enough to pose a threat on Earth in case of a collision, that is comets and asteroids larger than 140 meters with a trajectory closer than 50 million kilometers to Earth. Thales Alenia Space will provide from its site in Spain the communication transponders, in charge of receiving commands from Earth and to send the spacecraft’s telemetries, at 1.500.000 km distance.
