\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOn the 9th and 10th of November,\nSeville was home to the 2nd Edition\nof the Space Congress, an event\norganized by the Spanish Association\nof Defense, Security, Aeronautics and\nSpace Technology Companies (TEDAE)\nand the Spanish Space Agency (AEE),\nwhich was attended by over 200\nrepresentatives from both national\nand international companies and\ninstitutions of the sector.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThis new edition, which was finally\nheld after overcoming the restrictions\nrelated to Covid-19, served as the grand\nfinale of Space Week and gathered\ntogether the top representatives of the\nEuropean space sector.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe main goal of this Congress was to\nshowcase the capabilities of the sector\nin Spain and its achievements. More\nspecifically, as per the KPMG report on\nthe \u2018Economic and Social Impact of the\nDefense, Security, Aeronautics and Space\nIndustry\u2019 prepared for TEDAE, this sector\nhas, for the first time, exceeded a turnover\nof 1 billion euros, which proves that it is\na strategic industry with a great outlook.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The European Union,\nespecially with Copernicus,\nhas positioned itself as a\nworld pioneer in terms of\nsustainability, clearing up\nthe path for the Green Deal\ntowards a net zero economy\nthat is respectful of the\nplanet\u201d<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn addition, it was an opportunity\nto reveal the key European strategic\nplans of action for this decade\nin relation to space, as well as to\nanalyze the conclusions drawn\nduring Space Week at a key moment\nfor the sector.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAmparo Valcarce, Secretary of State for\nDefense, was in charge of the inauguration\nof the Congress. As part of her speech,\nshe highlighted the importance of the\nspace sector for strategic autonomy\nand its \u2018driver\u2019 nature, which is essential\nfor economic development, and stated\nthat the participation of the Ministry of\nDefense in this Congress is a testament\nto the efforts in performing \u201can efficient\ninstitutional undertaking in support of the\npromotion and knowledge of the industrial\nand technological foundations of\ndefense, both in national and international\nlandscapes\u201d. \u201cSpain is a serious, reliable\nEuropean ally with a strong leadership in\nspace research, knowledge, technology\nand industry,\u201d Valcarce added.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Earth Observation,\u2019\nwhich saw the participation of Fernando\nG\u00f3mez-Carpintero, CEO of Airbus Crisa;\nInmaculada Serrano, Space CTO at Indra;\nElisa Rivera, president of the Permanent Commission of\nthe Spanish Space Agency; Paraskevi Papantoniou, Head\nof the Space Policy Unit (DEFIS C.1) - European Commission;\nLouis Tillier, Deputy Director of the European Union\nSatellite Centre (SatCen), and Luis Guerra, Head of Space\nSystems Spain at Airbus.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

During his talk,\nthe President of TEDAE stressed that\n\u201cSpain has proven to be a very important\nstakeholder in the research and\nexploitation of Space.
