Sevilla virtual summit. Last December 2 the 2nd Space & Industrial Economy 5.0 Sevilla Virtual Summit was held under the title “Industry, the main actor of digital transformation and economic recovery.”
The opening speech of this second edition, which was held remotely, was given by the Government President Pedro Sánchez and Seville Mayor and Summit President Juan Espadas. During his speech, the Government President highlighted the important role of the space industry in our day-to-day activities and the government’s commitment to the approval of the Aerospace PERTE (Strategic Recovery Project) which will “contribute to the strengthening of the sector by fostering the creation of new jobs and new technologies, for example, to contribute to the creation of the zero emissions aircraft.”
Subjects like the new Spanish industry 5.0, the 2030 industrial landscape, the European recovery funds and the new lines of business for a digitalized and sustainable industry were discussed during the 2nd Space & Industrial Economy 5.0 Sevilla Virtual Summit.
In addition, the president of TEDAE, Ricardo Martí Fluxá, took part of the event through a video where he highlighted the reasons why the space industry is the “main actor of digital transformation and economic recovery.” In this regard, he stressed that “private investment always needs the support of the public sector to be able to maintain its current technological leadership and continue to break ground.”
Adding to this concept, he stated his support for the creation of a Spanish Space Agency, which would involve “the design, finalization and development of a national space policy” seeing as, internationally, the Spanish space industry has an important position as a leading partner in major space programs.
During this gathering, representatives from different corporate sectors highlighted the value of the Spanish space industry and its future.
